Create Publisher documents that support and supplement lessons from academic standards as well as provide parental communication while learning the basics of using the Publisher software. 2. Create a product using Publisher that can be used in the classroom as a teaching and/or student-learning tool. 3. Share teaching and learning products with whole group to demonstrate learning from the session.
Workshop Agenda Length: 6 hours
Introductions (10 minutes) Whole group introduction to MS Publisher (5 minutes) Discussion of objectives: (5 minutes) Whole Group Work: Copying folder to desktop (10 minutes) Opening Publisher, blank documents, exploration of formatting tools exploring possible documents (60 minutes) Making a flyer (30 minutes) Break: 10 minutes Making a business/contact card (30 minutes) Discussion of newsletter/brochure project--Examples (30 minutes) Lunch (1 hour) Independent work: newsletter and/or brochure (2 – 2 ½ hours) Break during independent work (10 minutes) Whole Group Share/Discuss (20 minutes) Closing (10 minutes) Take any printed materials and saved files you obtained.
